The original main building of the temple was lost and the current building was reconstructed during the Muromachi-era(A.D. 1336-1573).
Morning markets, which were started from Edo-era, are routinely held everyday at two locations in the urban-area. The one is held at eJinya-maef and the other is held at eMiyagawa-maef. You can find many fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers being grown-up around Takayama-city. These markets open from 6:00a.m. until noon.
